In Memoriam: David Rutter
It is with deep sadness, but also with fond memories of a life lived in "proper order," that we announce the passing of David Rutter, a distinguished and cherished Brother of Noctorum Lodge 5913.
Within the Lodge, Dave was a legendary figure, known for a ritualistic knowledge that was both vast and uniquely his own. He was the ultimate utility man of the ceremony; his impressive ability to assist in any position meant the Lodge was never at a loss when he was in the room. While he famously knew every word of the ritual, he was equally famous for delivering them "not necessarily in the right order"—a trait that brought a distinctive, warm, and human touch to every meeting.
His dedication to the Craft and his fellow Brethren was matched only by his sense of humour and his willingness to serve.
He will be remembered by the Brethren of Noctorum 5913 and the Province of Cheshire as a man who lived his Masonry through action, fellowship, and a truly one-of-a-kind spirit.
